The Amprobe TMA40-A anemometer has conventional angled-arm vane with a low-friction ball bearing to measure air velocity, air flow, and air temperature, and is used by HVAC/ R technicians to measure wind flow and temperature in air conditioning systems. The vane has a flexible cord for placing in hard to reach areas. Air velocity is measured in feet per second ( ft/ s) , and meters per second ( m/ s) , air flow volume in cubic meters per minute ( CMM) and cubic feet per minute ( CFM) , and dual-scale thermistor temperature sensor measures temperature in F and C.
The meter measures continuous moving air-flow average for up to two hours for a single source, up to 99 readings for multi-point sources, or up to 2, 400 points with datalogging capability. It has minimum, maximum, average, and hold functions for recording data, and a USB port for exporting data. Transmission requires a USB cable and software ( included) . The software supports Microsoft Windows NT, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows XP, and Windows 7 ( 32- and 64-bit) . The meter requires six AAA batteries ( included) , and includes a hard-sided carrying case, a USB cable, a CD-ROM, and instructions.

Anemometers measure air speed, and in some cases airflow and air direction. Dataloggers log temperature and humidity readings. They are used in field and lab applications in the hydroponic, agriculture, educational and research industries.
Amprobe manufactures electrical testing equipment for commercial, industrial, and home use. The company was founded in 1948 and is headquartered in Everett, WA
